Information on Direct School Admission to Crescent Girls' School

We welcome Primary 6 students with talent in the areas of music studies, performing arts, sports and leadership to apply to our school under the Direct School Admission (DSA) Exercise. Parents and students are encouraged to choose schools wisely based on the student’s aptitudes and strengths, bearing in mind the schools’ academic and non-academic requirements, and the programmes available to develop the area of talent.

Criteria for DSA(Sec) Exercise 2025

• Shortlisted candidates should exhibit good performance in the relevant selection test/audition/interview.

• Selection of students will also be based on the character and values displayed by candidates, aligned with the school values of Moral Courage, Resilience, Drive, Innovativeness, Empathy and Teamwork.

• Meeting all the criteria does not guarantee the student will be shortlisted or given an offer.

• Applicants who do not have prior experience may also apply. The school will assess applicants based on the selection criteria, which may include assessing the potential of the applicants. 

Students who are successfully admitted to the school via DSA are expected to honour their commitment to the school and participate in the activities related to the talent they are selected for from Years 1 to 4. They are to join the CCA allocated by the school throughout their 4 years in Crescent.

• Students admitted under DSA (Leadership) are expected to join the school-allocated Uniformed Group throughout their 4 years.

• Students admitted under DSA (MEP) are expected to be in MEP and to join a Music CCA (either Concert Band or Choir) throughout their 4 years.

Instructions for Application

• Application for DSA-Sec can be submitted through the online DSA-Sec Portal. There is no application fee. 

• Opens: Wed 7 May 2025, 11.00 am

• Closes: Tue 3 Jun 2025, 3.00 pm

• An applicant can indicate up to three choices. Each choice consists of a secondary school and a talent area offered by that secondary school. Of the three choices, an applicant may use a maximum of two choices to apply to the same school, for two different talent areas of that school.

• Crescent Girls' School only offers Posting Groups 2 and 3 for student enrolment.

• Applicants from MOE mainstream primary schools: Parents may log in directly to DSA-Sec Portal. Only one parent’s Singpass is required. Parents/legal guardians who are unable to apply online can approach their child’s/ward’s primary school for assistance.

• Other applicants not studying in MOE mainstream primary schools will need to apply for a Registration Number (RGxxxxxxx) to access the DSA-Sec Portal. Application can be done at MOE's website at: https://go.gov.sg/nmsdsa-sec-application

Successful DSA-Sec candidates will not be eligible to participate in the S1 Posting Exercise. To honour the commitment to the posted DSA school for the duration of the programme admitted to, successful candidates will not be allowed to transfer to another school after the release of the PSLE results.

Notification of Results

• Only shortlisted applicants will be notified by phone and email regarding the date of the relevant selection test/audition/interview.

• All selection tests/auditions/interviews will be conducted in-person at Crescent Girls' School.

• Selection tests will be held from Mon 21 Jul 2025 to Wed 13 Aug 2025. 

All applicants will be informed via email of the outcome of their application from Mon 25 Aug 2025 to Thu 4 Sep 2025.

The school reserves the right not to release the reason for non-selection of an applicant or the results of the selection tests/auditions/interviews.
