Commemorating CG70: Honouring our Past, Inspiring our Future
This year marks a significant milestone in Crescent Girls’ School’s journey as we commemorate 70 years of nurturing gracious, confident ladies and visionary leaders. Since our founding in 1956, Crescent has grown from a modest secondary school into a vibrant, future-focused learning community recognised for its culture of care, spirit of innovation and steadfast commitment to holistic education.
Over the decades, we have boldly embraced new frontiers, from pioneering technology-enabled learning in the early 2000s to deepening our sustainability efforts, and championing student leadership and community service initiatives that have touched lives far beyond our school gates. Our alumnae continue to excel in diverse fields, carrying with them the values and spirit that define Crescent. Each milestone reminds us that our strength lies in our ability to adapt to changing times while remaining anchored in our mission.
Our theme, “Honouring our Past, Inspiring our Future”, reflects this delicate balance. As we treasure the legacy built by those who came before us, we remain equally committed to preparing our students for a world of possibilities. Today, we carry forward our proud tradition of nurturing Ladies and Leaders of Tomorrow who embody our school values. In a world rapidly shaped by technological disruption, global interdependence and societal change, our focus remains unwavering: to nurture future-ready problem-solvers, compassionate individuals, and community-minded leaders.
As we celebrate seven decades of excellence, we pay tribute to the leaders, educators, students, School Advisory Committee members, alumnae, parents, and partners who have shaped Crescent’s remarkable journey. Your vision, dedication, and unwavering belief in the Crescent spirit have laid the foundation upon which we continue to flourish. We truly stand on the shoulders of giants, and for this, we express our deepest gratitude.
Looking ahead, the future holds immense promise, and at Crescent, we are ready to shape it. Guided by our school vision and mission, we will continue to design learning experiences that build character, strengthen student voice, and spark innovation. Through our curriculum, co-curricular programmes, and community partnerships, our students gain the confidence and competencies to navigate complexity, embrace opportunities and contribute meaningfully to society.
