Crescent Girls’ School would like to warmly welcome you to our Crescentian family. The Secondary One Registration Exercise marks the start of your daughter’s/ward’s journey at Crescent. We look forward to building a strong partnership with you to support your daughter/ward as she develops into a lady and leader.


Broad overview of Secondary One Registration Exercise 2018

The Secondary One Registration Exercise will take place on Thursday 20 December 2018. 

You and your daughter/ward are strongly encouraged to attend the registration exercise. In the event that you and your daughter/ward are unable to attend, please appoint a proxy to attend on your behalf. (Please note that your appointed proxy will need to bring along the MOE Proxy Form, duly filled up and signed. Please download the form here: MOE Proxy Form)

Higher Mother Tongue Language (HMTL) Option Forms
All eligible students will be issued an HMTL Option Form during the exercise. All parents and students are to exercise their option and submit the Option Form at the School Foyer by 12:00 noon, Thursday 20 December 2018.

Third Languages (Chinese Special Programme (CSP), Malay Special Programme (MSP), Asian Languages)
The namelist of students who have been allocated third languages will be put up at the School Foyer and outside the School Auditorium. Students are required to report to their assigned centre on Friday 28 December 2018 from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm. More information will be given during the briefing.

MSP and CSP are offered at Crescent Girls’ School for Secondary 1 to 4 students. Students who have been allocated CSP and MSP in Crescent Girls’ School will be automatically registered for lessons and are to report for their first lesson as indicated in their timetable. 

Application to enrol in the Music Elective Programme (MEP)
Interested parents and students are welcome to attend the post-registration briefing by Ms Low Geok Pin/HOD (Creative Arts). 

Online application for the MEP is available via our registration website (registration form will only be opened on Thursday 20 December 2018). All applications are to be submitted by 6:00 pm, Thursday 20 December 2018. Late submissions will not be processed.

The minimum requirements for MEP are at least a Grade 3 in both Music Practical and Theory examinations by ABRSM or its equivalent. However, apart from satisfying the above pre-requisites, all applicants are expected to fulfil the requirements at a compulsory written and performance audition. 

All applicants are expected to take the compulsory written and performance audition at 10:00 am, Friday 21 December 2018.

Students will be informed of the results of the application before the start of the school term via email.

A note about shoes: 
Students should wear shoes which are simple in design and only in white, grey* or school-based colours (e.g. yellow, green and blue), including logos, trimmings and laces. Black is also allowed for logo and trimmings.
If grey, should not be more than 70% intensity of black (as seen below) 

If luminous, it should be limited to the sole of the shoe or logo only.

There is no need to purchase the school badge as all new Secondary One students would be given a badge during our Dedication Ceremony on Tuesday 15 January 2019.

For the safety and security of our students, and easy identification of all cars, all parents and guardians are strongly encouraged to purchase the car decal from the counter at the School Foyer on Thursday 20 December 2018.

First Day of School
The academic year starts on Wednesday 2 January 2019. Students are to report in half-uniform (PE t-shirt, PE shorts and school skirt) and to bring their blouse and tie.

Students are required to report at the Parade Square at 7:05 am. Registration documents are to be submitted to their Form Teachers on the first day of school. More information will be given during the briefing.
