Raffles Hotel is now surrounded by a soaring modern city. Yet, having survived the harsh realities of today's world, she continue to enthrall with her history, her legends, her memories.

After its restoration works in 1989, Raffles Hotel reopened on 14 September 1991. Located in the heart of Singapore's business and historic district, it is now a national monument with an international reputation for service and hospitality. Its charms include the Sikh doormen immaculately attired in white uniforms. Restored at a cost of $160 million, Raffles Hotel is a blend of old and new, East and West, heritage and high-tech. It is one of the few hotels in the world that can lay claim to offering hospitality to travellers for over a century.

The hotel has 104 suites including the 8 Grand Hotel suites. Each of the suites has a spacious parlour, dressing room, bedroom and bathroom. The Raffles and Sarkies are the only suites whose prices are upon request. The prices of Grand Hotel Suites, which are more spacious, range from $3000 to $4000. No two rooms are alike. The rooms also have a hardwood floor, a fourteen foot ceiling, overhead fans and central air conditioning.
The Raffles Hotel Arcade is situated adjoining Raffles Hotel. Raffles Hotel has a 24-hour health club and swimming pool, pool bar, Jubilee Hall Theatre Playhouse, museum, Raffles Culinary Academy, Sir Charles Florist, 60 speciality shops, 12 distinctive restaurants, expensive tropical gardens, 5 bars, Sugar Palm Club for children, indoor and outdoor function areas, Braille versions of menus/directories.

The staff are trained to be observant of the the characteristics of the customers at check-in point. And they have gone an extra mile to put in that added touch to its guests. For example, a left-handed customer would find his suite arranged perfectly to his needs with stationery at the the left-hand side of the suite desk. There is even a Braille version of the menu/directory for visually impaired customers.
Its improved gardens covering more than a quarter of the land is a tranquil contrast to the busy modern world surrounding the Hotel.
