Some races are more prone
than others to develop male pattern baldness. Caucasians are particularly prone and may
develop very severe forms of male pattern baldness ; Blacks are less prone and Orientals
the least prone.
Asians and Blacks have black hair while Caucasians have a wide
variety of hair colours. The colour, thickness and quantity of hair are inter-related.
Light-coloured hair such as blonde hair is finer and denser whereas red and black hair is
thicker but less dense.
The nearly black hair of the Papuan, Melanesian and African
grows from a curved follicle, which imparts a spiral twist and is flat or tapelike in
cross section. The hair of the Chinese, Japanese and Native American is straight, coarse
and almost always black. It grows from a straight follicle and is round in cross section
and has an easily distinguished medulla. the hair of the Ainu, European, Hindu and Semite
is wavy and intermediate between the straight and curly types. It grows form a straight
follicle but has a slight tendency to curl ; It is oval in cross section and among
individuals exhibits a wide range of colour form light blond to black.
During our project, we also did some surveys and interviews. From the
surveys did 70% of the people interviewed were Chinese, 30% Caucasian,10% Indian and a
minority of Malays. Thus we concluded that Chinese are prone to losing hair. This is due to
the genes in them.
Well whatever race you are, just take good care of your
hair.

From the graph, we can see that chinese are more prone to losing hair than other races
