CGS Parenting Workshops 2004
1. A s part of the school’s effort to partner with parents in nurturing our girls, we organised a series of monthly parenting workshops to help parents better understand how they can guide, mentor and coach their daughters during their adolescent years. In this way, parents can reinforce the approach used by the school in their interactions with their children.
2. T he highly well-received workshops organized for parents include:
- Discipline with Dignity: “Child Whispering” (March 2004 )
- Understanding Adolescence (April 2004)
- Communication & Limit Setting (May 2004)
- Building Your Teen's Self Esteem (June 2004)
3. T he school shares it’s approach of positive discipline to equip parents with effective strategies to enable their teenaged children to acquire positive character traits and to ensure alignment between the school and home approaches in character building. Through these workshops, p arents are better equipped to deal with the changes that teens go through, effects of environment on the teenagers; learning how to work out their conflicts, and how to set ground rules to maintain some “law and order” at home without hurting the parent-child relationship.
