II. Safety Precautions
- Wear safety goggles
at all times in the laboratory
- Observe
strictly all laboratory rules
- Read and follow all
instructions carefully
- Organise your work
and take all necessary precautions to prevent any
mishaps
- Always use test tube
holder when heating
- Follow proper procedure
for lighting a Bunsen burner e.g. close air hole of
the Bunsen burner when lighting the flame. Open the
air hole to give a non-luminous flame for heating
- Report all cases of
breakage, injury or mishaps to teacher-in-charge.
