Laboratory Session 3: Test for
Anions
The narcotic officers sent another
three white crystalline solids to the laboratory for
identification. Initial test results show that they
are all sodium salts.
In this laboratory session, you
are given aqueous solutions of each of the white crystals.
You will test for the anions present in the three crystalline
solids and deduce the full identity of each of the three
white salts.
You are required to:
- Read all instructions and procedures
given carefully, study the digital
images or video clips for each experiment.
- Record your observations in the
Virtual Laboratory Experience 3 worksheet
provided.
- From your observations, make
relevant deductions to the nature of the unknown substance
or the identity of the substance as given in the instructions.
- The duration of this laboratory
trial is 45 minutes.
