Procedure:

1. Please read carefully and understand all laboratory safety rules before proceeding with these experiments.
2. Observe the digital images and video clips of the following tests on unknown solids A, B and C and record all your observations on your Virtual Laboratory Experience 5 worksheet.
3. For each experiment, the substance is heated gently at first and then more strongly until no further change.
4. Note the colour and the texture before heating.
   1. Observe the test for any gases evolved.
   2. Note the colour of the residue when it is hot and when it is cooled.
5. Using your observations, deduce the possible identity or nature of the solids A, B and C.
