1a) Place 2 spatula of sodium sulphite in a test
tube. Add 3 cm3 of dilute hydrochloric
acid. Warm gently.
b) Place one drop of acidified potassium dichromate(VI)
or acidified potassium manganate(VII) on a piece
of filter paper strip. Hold the orange filter
paper strip over the mouth of the test tube.
