Test
For Gas
Gases and vapours are liberated
during heating or by addition of reagents such as acids
are detected and identified according to their
- colour
- odour
- reaction with specific chemical
tests.
When heating or addition of acid
is required, BE PREPARED to carry out the appropriate
identification tests for the gas evolved. Generally,
the appearance of small bubbles in the solution or a
steady stream of gas i.e. effervescence of a gas indicates
the production of a gas.
