There was a definite buzz in the air at Crescent in Term 3 as our school embarked on it’s pilot project of m-learning, i.e. mobile learning. The launch of Crescent as Microsoft’s Learning Gateway School and of m-learning@Crescent on the 31st July 2004 was graced by our minister of Education, Mr Tharman Shanmugaratnam. Art Awareness Day is an annual event to give Crescentians the liberty to create, build and realize their ideas. It is also a great opportunity for cluster schools to participate and share their creativity. ‘Arts is Blind’, this year’s theme, various competitions, workshops, demonstrations, performances, talks by speakers from various disciplines had been organized both for the School and Cluster level. All of these events share a common heartbeat- they sing of the music behind each discipline that accentuate the fact that Art is Blind and is for all. The Student Lounge and Coffee Club were set up and they are exclusive for students with at least 7 Honour stamps (on their individual Honour Card) to enter and enjoy it's facilities. This system indentify students with exemplary behaviour and promotes excellence in every Crescentian to cultivate in herself self-discipline and a strong sense of responsibility for herself and her community. Through a collaborative project with Cybercare, Crescent girls went to Nepal on a leadership expedition.Main motive of the trip was to help the community in Nepal, helping the various school and medical centres with the donation of laptops educational posters, books, sports equipment toys, gifts and medical supplies and also help to set up a library for a school at Chuuserman.. |
