Admission Criteria
Q1. What is the cut-off point for admission into the school?
A: In 2007, the cut off point was 243.
Q2. How can students who do not meet the cut-off point be admitted into the school?
A: Crescent Girls’ School sets aside several places under the Direct School Admission (DSA) for Secondary 1 students.
Application forms are available on the school's web site at www.crescent.edu.sg/info_dsa.htm.
Selected students are expected to join the respective CCAs allocated by the school during their 4 years with Crescent.
School Academic Achievement
Q3. What is the school’s overall position in the annual schools ranking exercise?
A: Every year, Crescent Girls’ School has been ranked in the top 20 among secondary schools.
Based on the results of the 2007 GCE ‘O’ Level Examinations, we are placed in Band 1 with an average aggregate of L1B5 of 9.3 over 6 subjects.
Q4. How has the school preformed academically?
A: Traditionally, our students have excelled academically at national examinations with value-added performance. In the recent 2007 GCE ‘O’ level examinations, 100% of the students qualified for admission into Junior Colleges and Pre-University courses.
Q5. Does the school offer Higher Mother Tongue?
A: We offer Higher Chinese, Higher Malay and Higher Tamil and lessons are held within the school. There are several classes of students taking the Higher Mother Tongue Languages at each level.
